Which BatMon ?

Why are there so many versions of BatMon?

Which ones do I need for my solution?

The lower the shunt value - the more accurate the measurements.

Our 500A external shunt solution is as accurate or more accurate than other available battery monitors. However, ohms laws apply here and the lower the shunt current capacity means the more accurate it can be measured.

Most of the time your off grid solution is consuming 1 to 4 Amps.

OK, unless you use your off grid solution 24/7 your system is idle.

BatMon however is far from Idle - its measuring these small amounts of consumption so it can reliably give you an accurate reading of the Amp Hour status of what it's connected too.

DC to AC Inverters Use a lot of Current.

You've made your decisions and want the luxury of using mains electric (who doesn't love that coffee machine!) so have designed your system to use a mains DC-AC Inverter. This means you will be dealing with current in the 100's of Amps. This is when you need to use a 300A or 500A BatMon.

So Why do I need BatMonXP?

BatMon is perfect for most applications - but if you are one of the people that want the below - the XP is the choice for you!
